Prof Martin LoosemoreProfessor Martin Loosemore collaborates with Synergy in facilitating a wide range of risk management strategies for our clients and developing Risk and Opportunity Management Systems.

With professorial appointments at leading universities in Australia, UK and USA, Martin is a globally recognized expert in risk management who has worked internationally with numerous major public sector and private organisations and NGOs to develop innovative approaches to risk management.

Recent risk management assignments for Martin include:

  • facilitating a workshop for a NSW government department on the effects of climate change
  • providing on-going advice to one of the world's leading construction companies
  • consulting with stakeholders on projects for construction of the Beijing 2008 Olympic facilities, the Three Gorges Dam in China and soon for the London 2012 Olympics.

In 2006 he launched his 4th book "Risk Management in Projects" and information on all his publications can be obtained by emailing Synergy.

Martin has also developed innovative tools for use in risk management, e.g. the Risk Management Maturity Tool ©. The output is a report showing the strengths and weaknesses for the organisation in relation to risk management and a graphically representation on a "radar chart". An example of this diagram can be found on the Synergy services page on this website.

He is often requested to present papers at high profile seminars, conferences and to lead master classes on risk management. A selection of his papers are available on this website. In May 2007, Martin will be involved in the Social Infrastructure Summit.

Martin employs a structured method for building management systems for organisations to identify and control risks. A recent addition to his portfolio is the method for developing a Business Continuity Management Plan, which incorporates emergency management, crisis management and business recovery.

In addition, Professor Loosemore is currently working with a software company to develop a multi media interactive software called ROMS ©. This is soon to be launched and will enable organisations to work through a systematic process for building management systems to control risks.

Martin has written the following 4 books. You can order now from Amazon Books , if available.
